How To Perform Your Own Facial At Home.

Prepare the products. You will also need 4 damp cotton wool discs with skin toner on them, cleansing brush and removal sponges.
A relaxing atmosphere is very important, turn down the lights, switch off the phone and play relaxing music.

Before cleansing your skin, it is good to give yourself a light steam treatment to open your pores and prepare your face for cleaning. To do this, simply soak a soft towel in a bowl of comfortably warm herbal tea (chamomile is one of my favorites). Wring out the towel and place it over your face and neck area and relax until it cools slightly. You may repeat this process, as it is quite soothing. Or you can cleanse while sitting in the bath for added relaxation and the benefits of steam cleansing.

1.      Apply a generous amount of cleanser to the skin with massage movements using the facial cleansing brush
2.      Remove with damp sponges
3.      Use a gentle facial scrub to remove dead skin cells than remove with damp sponges
4.      Lie on a bed, apply facial massage oil and use facial massage movements for about 10mins
5.      Remove the massage oil with toner on 2 wool discs one in each hand
6.      Apply the mask you can use a brush to do this if you want be really professional, leave it for 15 mins while on the bed.
7.      Remove the mask with sponges then tone again with 2 cotton wool discs
8.      Finally apply a good moisturiser.
The facial set is designed to allow massage therapists to perform a hot stone facial as well as providing the tools to help relax the musculature of the neck, shoulders, hands and feet. These massage stones are the perfect size for working the small and delicate contours of the face while maintaining a great sense of control during the treatment. These smooth stones have an amazing ability to retain temperature, and are especially designed for facial work. Two larger stones are used to massage the face or neck contour. Eight smaller stones are used for placement or massage in smaller, tighter areas. Stone sizes may vary.  Choose the right products. “Allergy-tested” means it doesn’t have ingredients that cause common reactions. “Noncomedogenic” means it won’t clog pores.
Relax your mind: To relax the mind, lure your senses by turning off the bright lights. Light some aromatic candles in the bathroom with a soft music at the background.

Cleanse your skin: Cleansers help to get rid of dirt and make up without any traces. With the help of a milk cleanser clean the skin gently in a circular motion. Apply the cleanser to your face and throat, and use upward circular motions, to all the way up to the hairline, and down to the breastbone. After a fine massage, rinse well with warm water and pat it dry.
Exfoliate : Exfoliate your face with a gentle face scrub. You can use a grain-based scrub like oatmeal and apricot Concentrate on the areas around your nose and forehead. For a
combination skin, work harder on the areas that are more oily. Make sure to use scrubs that don't dry your face. Rinse it with lukewarm water.
Steaming time: Steaming is essential as it opens the pores and increases circulation on the skin's surface. Select herbs like s lavender, mint or calendula for dry skin or mint, lavender, rose and
witch hazel, for oily skin or try calendula, chamomile, or comfrey for sensitve skin and boil it in a bowl of water. Pour hot steamy water in a large bowl and bring it to the place you are going to do the facial. Lean your face over the bowl about a foot away and cover your head and the bowl to preserve the steam. If you feel a burning sensation then stop for few seconds and repeat it. Keep the steam going for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Tonic: As the pores are open, your skin is in ideal state for maximum absorption. So, gently massage a regenerating serum or tonic at this stage.
Face masks : envelop your skin with a face masks that suits your skin to enhance the skin care treatment . To know how to make face masks, read our DIY article (( /
do-it-yourself/beauty-n-fashion/face-mask.html). To replenish the pores apply toner by misting or cotton pad.
Moisturizer: smooth on a soft moisturizer according to your skin type. Apply the lotion all over the face and neck avoiding the area around the eyes. Apply an eye cream all around the eyes. This final stage will help in protecting your skin until your next facial

Do it at least once every week.

What is your skin type?

 Basic Skin Types:

Oily skin is caused by over-active glands, which produce a substance called Sebum, a naturally healthy skin lubricant. When the skin produces too much sebum, it becomes thick and heavy in texture. Shininess, pimples and blemishes characterize oily skin. Frequent steam cleaning and exfoliation can help reduce these symptoms.
Dry skin usually results when skin fails to produce enough sebum to maintain a naturally lubricated surface. This lack of oil in the skin is often hereditary, but can also be caused by over-exposure to the sun and other environmental elements. As we age, our skin becomes drier as decreased metabolism reduces the rapidity with which dead skin cells are replaced. Dry skin often appears coarse, tight, dull and flaky, with visible lines and wrinkles. Massage with essential and cold pressed oils can stimulate metabolism and alleviate dry skin conditions.
Combination skin A combination of dry and oily, this could be an oily t- zone and dry eyes and cheeks
Normal skin produces a healthy amount of sebum, and tends to be neither dry nor oily in feel.
Sensitive skin reacts unfavorably to a variety of chemicals and environmental factors. Having had ample opportunity to compare brand new baby skin with skin that is just a few years old, it seems to me that all skin is delicate and sensitive when it is new. Increased exposure to nature's elements such as the sun, wind and cold, as well as to harsh cosmetic ingredients tend to toughen skin over time.
Combination Skin
Many people have different skin types on different parts of the face. For example, it is not uncommon for a person to have oily skin around the nose, forehead and chin, while the rest of the face is more on the dry side. If you have more than one skin type on your face, it is wise to use products containing different ingredients to treat the areas differently.

Why Bother Do a Facial

Stress, tiredness, dryness, ageing, and external aggessions - the story of your daily life is told by the state of your skin.

Visits to the Beauty Spa are costly, but there are treatments you can perform on yourself or friends at homr for a fraction of the cost.

Wave Pattern

The Wave Pattern of the hair refers to the shape of the hair strand, and is described as straight, wavy, curly, or extremely curly.
Natural wave patterns are the result of genetics. As a general rule Asians tend to have extremely straight hair, Caucasians tend to have straight to wavy hair, and African Americans tend to have extremely curly hair. But straight, curly, and extremely curly hair occurs in all races. This means that anyone of any race, or mixed race, can have hair with varying degrees of curliness from straight to extremely curly.
The wave pattern may also vary from strand to strand on the same person’s head. Individuals with curly hair often have straighter hair in the crown and curlier hair in other areas
Several theories attempt to explain the cause of natural curly hair, but there is no single, definite answer that explains why some hair grows straight and other hair grows curly.
·         One theory claims that the shape of the hair’s cross-section determines the amount of curl. This theory claims that hair with a round cross-section is straight, hair with an oval cross-section is wavy, and hair with a flat cross-section is curly.
·         At present, natural curl is believed to be the result of one side of the hair strand growing faster than the other side. Since the side that grows faster will be slightly longer than the slower-growing side, tension within the strand causes the long side to curl around the short side. Hair that grows uniformly on both sides does not create tension and results in straight hair. However, this theory is still unproven.

The Meaning Of Color - Grey

Gray is the color of sorrow. People who favour gray can be the lone wolf type or narrow-minded. Gray with more silver in it can be a very active color.
Native Americans associate gray with friendship. Gray is the symbol for security, maturity and dependability. It connotes responsibility and conservative practicality.

Gray Energy
Gray is the true neutral color. Its energy imparts void, emptiness, lack of movement, emotion, warmth and identifying characteristics. Because of this, gray can be restful. It has a detached and isolated feeling. Gray can have a cooling effect when placed next to other more vibrant colors. It has a stabilizing effect, making vibrant colors stand out while muting their vibration

Put some gray in your life when you want:
  • to emphasize your willingness to comply
  • a neutral, non-invasive feeling
  • to reduce the intense energy of another color
  • to feel detached or isolated
